Westwind Hills Wedding in Saint Louis, Missouri | A Classic, Southern-Inspired Celebration for Taylor & Nick
A Vision Rooted in Southern Tradition
Taylor and Nick’s wedding at Westwind Hills in Saint Louis, Missouri was a classic, Southern-inspired celebration full of charm, color, and intention. From the very beginning, Taylor had a clear vision rooted in timeless tradition with plenty of feminine details —bows, florals, personal touches, and elegant details woven throughout. We were intentional about ensuring every inch of the day reflected that vision.
From the moment I stepped into the design process with Taylor, I could tell she had a true eye for the details. She was hands-on and incredibly thoughtful, collaborating with me on every fine element—from the charger plates to the perfect embroidered linens (those textured blues still make me swoon). Westwind Hills served as the perfect backdrop for it all—a beautiful blank slate that elevates any celebration and absolutely shines in natural light.
Getting Ready
Taylor got ready in the venue’s stunning Bridal Suite, surrounded by soft sunlight and the calm of a morning that felt just right. She sipped champagne from a coupe tied with pink bows (of course!) and had a quiet moment seated in her chair before the celebration began. These little moments of peace matter. They set the tone for a day filled with joy.
While Taylor enjoyed a peaceful morning in the bridal suite, Nick was getting ready in the venue’s beautifully lit Groom’s Suite—a favorite among photographers and vendors alike. The space is clean, bright, and thoughtfully designed, making it just as ideal for portraits and prep as the bridal suite. It’s always such a gift when both sides of the wedding party have equally lovely spaces to start the day.
Meaningful Moments Together
Taylor and Nick exchanged personal vows, giving them a beautiful moment together before the ceremony. It was quiet, it was real, and it grounded the entire day in something truly meaningful. Another incredibly special moment came when Taylor’s mother helped walk her down the aisle alongside her father. The emotion in that moment will stay with me for a long time. As another deeply personal touch, Taylor’s mother handmade the bouquet wrap and ring bearer pillow using fabric from her own wedding dress. It was a beautiful tribute that connected generations and added even more heart to an already intentional day.
The Perfect September Evening
After the ceremony, guests were welcomed onto the outdoor veranda for cocktail hour—and it was truly one of those golden September evenings where the weather felt like a gift. The team at Westwind Hills served up craft cocktails that were as beautiful as they were delicious, and a live trio played romantic, modern-classical music that felt straight out of Bridgerton—graceful, cinematic, and full of charm. We also brought in a live portrait illustrator, giving guests a unique keepsake to take home. It was such an immersive experience—watching loved ones gathered around, sipping drinks, listening to music, and having their portraits sketched in real time. It added an artistic, personal layer to the celebration that guests are still talking about.
One-Of-A-Kind Reception Details
The reception design was a showstopper. A custom monogram and handpainted floral print by Forget Not Paper were woven throughout, creating a celebration that felt deeply personal and uniquely theirs. These signature details showed up everywhere—from the invitation suite and wedding cake to the escort card wall, cocktail napkins, and bar front, which also featured a playful sign with the couple’s dog—a guest favorite that added the perfect touch of personality.
The layout was both intimate and elegant, with a large U-shaped family table anchoring the space. Sugarberry Blooms delivered unforgettable tall floral installations that truly made the room sing. And Taylor and Nick’s reaction during the room reveal? Pure joy—ear-to-ear smiles that made every detail worth it.
Final Thoughts
I can’t say enough about how much I love working at Westwind Hills. The natural light in the suites makes for incredible photos. The bar staff? Absolute mixology pros—from beautifully crafted cocktails during cocktail hour to the late-night espresso martinis that wrapped up Taylor and Nick’s celebration perfectly. And working with the venue owners, Rob and Lauren, is always a dream. They’re creative, collaborative, and care so deeply about making every event unforgettable. Being able to plan alongside them always elevates the experience.
Taylor and Nick’s wedding was a beautiful reflection of who they are—classic and joyful with a little Southern flair, and Westwind Hills was the perfect fit for their celebration. And I’m so honored I got to help bring it to life.
