Emerson Fields Wedding in Missouri | A Refined European Garden-Inspired Celebration for Brooke & Zach
When Brooke and Zach first approached me to help plan their wedding at Emerson Fields, I knew we were in for something truly special. Brooke’s impeccable eye for design shone through from our very first conversation. She dreamed of transforming the beautiful, blank canvas of Emerson Fields into a scene reminiscent of a manicured European garden. With her vision and my expertise, we brought that dream to life in ways that felt both elegant and personal.
Getting Ready
For Brooke, it was deeply important to get ready at her parents’ home—a space she herself had helped renovate, adding her keen designer’s touch to every corner. The morning unfolded with quiet anticipation as she and her bridesmaids enjoyed hair and makeup while surrounded by the familiar comfort of home. It was a space filled with memories, and that intimacy made the morning even more meaningful. I’ll never forget the moment Brooke tried practicing her vows in front of her bridesmaids, only to be overcome by emotion. Her love for Zach, her excitement for their future together—it was all so tangible, and she was moved to tears before the day even truly began.
Pre-Ceremony Portraits
Their desire for unique and meaningful portraits led them to Truman University’s campus before the ceremony. The classic brick buildings and tucked-away garden nooks offered a picturesque contrast to the natural elegance of Emerson Fields. It was the perfect setting for their wedding party portraits and a chance to capture moments that felt a bit more timeless and European-inspired.
Curated European Garden Details
At Emerson Fields, Brooke envisioned a setting that felt like stepping into a cultivated garden from another time and described wanting to infuse the venue with a sense of history and refinement. We focused on bringing in layers of texture and detail—stoneware, patterned linens, vintage china—all contributing to a sophisticated yet welcoming atmosphere. The result was a space that felt both curated and inviting, with every detail chosen to reflect Brooke and Zach’s personalities.
One-of-a-Kind Wedding Portraits
Adding a unique twist to the day, the photographer brought along a hand-painted backdrop for a few intimate couple’s portraits. It provided a romantic and artistic scene that perfectly complemented the overall aesthetic of the day.
A Ceremony Full of Intention and Grace
The ceremony itself was deeply rooted in faith, something incredibly important to both Brooke and Zach. They shared communion together and exchanged personal vows, making their commitment to each other not just a promise, but a spiritual covenant. The ceremony programs, designed as custom fans, were a favorite detail of Brooke’s—both beautiful and thoughtful, keeping guests comfortable during the outdoor celebration.
Refined Reception Reveal
After countless hours of planning, it was such a joy to share a room reveal with Brooke and Zach. As we guided them into the reception space at Emerson Fields, Brooke’s jaw literally dropped. Her eyes lit up, and she smiled from ear to ear as she took in the transformation. Seeing her reaction made every moment of preparation worthwhile.
European Garden-Inspired Celebration
The reception was a joyful, family-focused celebration. Instead of the traditional head table, we created a king’s table that brought together not only the wedding party but also close family. A lush floral runner cascaded down the center of the table and spilled onto the floor, creating an opulent yet natural feel that perfectly echoed the garden-inspired vision for Emerson Fields. Throughout the evening, guests were treated to a series of delightful food moments: welcome cocktails as they entered the reception, warm skillet brookies with ice cream served tableside, a root beer float bar for a playful touch, and Petzoldt’s Pretzels as a late-night snack. Emerson Fields’ full-size catering kitchen made it easy for the vendor team to execute these details seamlessly, ensuring the guest experience was smooth and memorable.
Final Thoughts
One of the things I love most about Emerson Fields is its versatility—it’s truly a blank canvas for creating celebrations that reflect each couple’s vision. Brooke and Zach’s wedding was a perfect example of how a space like Emerson Fields can be transformed into something deeply personal and unforgettable. The venue’s layout made it simple to plan the room reveal, a moment that was incredibly important to Brooke and Zach. And with its well-designed kitchen, we were able to offer an elevated food experience that was both thoughtful and seamless for the guests.
Brooke and Zach’s Emerson Fields wedding in Missouri was a celebration filled with thoughtful details, emotional moments, and an undeniable focus on family, faith, and beauty. I feel so honored to have been a part of their journey, helping to bring their vision of a refined garden-inspired wedding at Emerson Fields to life.
